Scope of the Job
Intervita are working in India since 1998 with several projects to promote the child rights all funded trough the child sponsorship system. Currently Intervita want to increase and diversify their efforts by raising the total investment for cooperation and by creating new partnerships with local NGOs. To face with their strategic plan in India, Intervita decided to open a Liaison Office (LO) to represent the Intervita headquarters in India, to promote Intervita in India, to act as a communication channel between Intervita and the Indian NGOs.
Requirements
• At least 5 years overseas experience of project management in the field
• Previous experience in general and HR management
• Good knowledge of Project Cycle Management
• Proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
• Capable of working in team
• Excellent communication skill and sensitivity in dealing with local institutions on critical issues
• Very flexible, patient and with a positive attitude
• Dynamic and willing to take initiative to complete tasks assigned
• Problem solving skills
• Computer literate
Desired skills
• Previous experience as NGO Country Representative
• Previous overseas work in India
• Good knowledge of Italian
• Post graduate qualifications in project management or related field
• Previous experiences about Children’s Rights Projects
• Proved experience in writing projects for main donor agencies (UE, UN agencies)
Duties
1. Identification of partners and projects: To identify reliable local partners, supervise the identified partners in drafting the project proposals to be submitted to Intervita and ensuring that the contract documents related to the funding activities of Intervita are drawn up properly
2. Child Sponsorship Managenment: to make sure that the procedures given by Intervita are properly applied by the partners and or directly by the LO staff. Furthermore, to gather and check (also on the quality level) all the information (children, pictures, and drawing database) prior to sending the information to Spain Italy.
3. Project monitoring and evaluation: To undertake regular visits to the project sites to gain a clear understanding of project conditions, requirements and constraints. To support Intervita with the periodical and final evaluation of the projects which are financially funded in the country of implementation, supervising the partners in the compilation of the periodical and final reports, both narrative and financial, prior to the transfer to Spain Italy
4. Networking: To manage the relationship with the local authorities and to evaluate the possibility of creating partnerships with UN agencies operating in India
5. Office Management and Logistic: To ensure adequate procedures for the Liaison Office management (human, financial and material resources). To send to Intervita, according to the procedures, the periodical (quarterly) financial report (and the receipts) of the expenses incurred for the management of Liaison Office in a timely manner. To arrange and formalize an annual expenditure plan, that covers the expenses of the daily management of the Liaison Office. Provide logistic support to the missions undertaken by Intervita, both the technical missions and the communication and management ones.
