To set up a rational system of the use of water resources, on the basis of an integrated, sustainable management of the water cycle. The aim of this technique of resource use is to help solve the problems emerging from traditional water management, which is too fragmented and sector-based.

STRATEGIC LINE 2. Integrated management of solid waste
To develop and implement a sustainable, applicable model for an integrated management of solid waste that considers the specific requirements of the context of each region of intervention.

STRATEGIC LINE 3. Renewable energy
To encourage and improve access to energy by means of the use of renewable energy sources and to increase energy efficiency by means of the installation of appropriate technology to the needs of beneficiary countries. This specifically applies to those rural areas where there is no connection to the conventional mains electricity.

STRATEGIC LINE 4. Management of natural disaster risk
To develop an appropriate diagnosis and environmental disaster risk management analysis that can increase a community’s resistance (the capacity to deal with the effects of an environmental disaster, without trauma) and resilience (the capacity to recover after the effects of a disaster) with regard to a disaster.

STRATEGIC LINE 5. Sensitisation, education and training to respect the environment
To encourage policies changing values, attitudes, conduct and skills in order to obtain a real social and institutional compromise that guarantees the actions to the benefit of the environment and allows for the correct management of natural resources.
