About us

The Association Intervita Onlus is a non-confessional, non-political, independent Non-Governmental Organisation cooperating for development. Founded in Milan in 1999, we work in the countries of the world’s south, collaborating with local partners to improve the living conditions of the populations of the poorest areas.

Intervita Onlus specialises in integrated development projects: we therefore choose to intervene in areas with high poverty indexes where, by working in various sectors at the same time – health, education, food safety, production, rights for women and children, environmental sustainability and community participation – we can lay solid bases for a real, lasting community development.

With a team of professionals specialised in various different sectors, Intervita was able to take action whenever natural disasters strike the countries with which we are involved. We make our experience available in first aid and reconstruction works, as we did, for example, during the tsunami that destroyed the eastern coast of India in December 2004, or cyclone Nargis in Myanmar in May 2008.
